The SIAL Innovation contest highlights products launched on the market since January 2024, which bring something new or different to the Canadian market and have expansion potential. These products must represent emerging trends, create value for their target audience, and inspire other food companies.

Each selected innovation is evaluated based on four aspects: Recipe and composition | Packaging and conditioning | Marketing positioning | Manufacturing process

International Cheese Competition

Discover cheese excellence at SIAL!

The International Cheese Competition celebrates the best cheeses, highlighting innovation and excellence in the cheese industry. Cheeses will be judged on their technical and aesthetic properties in terms of appearance, aroma, flavor, and texture, across 26 different categories.

Come watch the grand tasting on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the SIAL Dairy booth, where a panel of professionals will award the grand winner from all 26 categories. The awards ceremony will take place on the same day. Afterwards, participate in workshops to taste the award-winning cheeses.

Start-Up: Pitch Competition

Come discover the innovative and committed new generation of food!

The SIAL Canada Pitch Competition highlights entrepreneurs who have been active for 5 years or less, offering innovative products, technologies, or services in the food and beverage sector. This competition supports solutions that combine commercial performance and environmental responsibility, with strong growth potential in the North American market.

Join us on Wednesday, May 30 to support these young talents! The shortlisted startups will have 3 minutes to present their concept and convince the jury. The winners will be announced on the same day. Come celebrate with us the leaders of tomorrow and their exceptional commitment!

Best Canadian Cheesemonger Competition

Discover who will be elected the Best Canadian Cheesemonger 2026!

The biennial “Best Canadian Cheesemonger” competition celebrates and highlights the best cheesemongers in the country. In partnership with the Dairy Farmers of Canada, the first edition in 2024 awarded Amélie Tendland from Fromagerie Laiterie Charlevoix (QC), who will represent Canada on the international stage in September 2025 in Tours.
