International Cheese Competition

New at the show: International Cheese Competition by SIAL

The International Cheese Competition by SIAL is the very first international cheese competition in Canada. It's our desire to showcase cheesemakers’ innovation, expertise, and passion and share it with the world!

Cheese profesionnals and local chefs will award a Gold Medal to the best cheese in each of the 26 selected categories. We recognize cheeses from all types of milk.

Why participate?  

The champions will be awarded "Best in Show!" during a ceremony held at the Cheese by SIAL pavillon. The winning cheesemarkers will benefit from international recognition and visibility - thanks to media coverage and the SIAL network.

A Word From The Jury President

International Cheese Competition in 4 steps


Step 1

This competition is open to all cheeses displayed at SIAL Canada. Make sure to exhibit your cheese at the show.

Entry fee of $55 CDN per submitted cheese.


Step 2

Please complete the application form before March 15th, 2019 with a copy of its national brand label including its ingredients and nutritional information for each submitted cheese.


Step 3

Bring your cheeses to Gurth Pretty at the Cheese by SIAL pavilion at Enercare Centre (Toronto) before noon, April 29th, 2019.


Step 4

On April 30th, 2019 the winners will be revealed to the media and the Gold medals will be handed out for the various categories!

The winning "Best in Show!" will be featured at the Cheese by SIAL pavillon during the show.
